The Baltimore Orioles have ended their 7 year drought of missing the playoffs in 2023.
They won 101 games in 2023 and won the AL East. They entered the series on Oct.7 against the Texas Rangers, but unfortunately got swept.
What caused the collapse of the Orioles? I believe it was the pitching, in the first two games they gave up 14 runs and their rookie standout Grayson Rodriguez gave up 5 earned runs in game 2. While they did lose the series the season was certainly a success with some MLB repostors guessing they wouldn’t get more than 72 wins.
They have some major prospects coming up such as Jackson Holiday and Colton Cowser. They will need to trade for some pitching in the offseason if they want to have a long postseason run next year.
Offseason adjustments- I think the orioles will make some big trades this offseason. I could see them moving on from Austin Hays or even Cedric Mullins. That is also a way they could try to get pitchers.
For all the Orioles fans out there, I know the playoffs were a let down but they’ll be back.
