In October of 2021, due to a Nvidia GeForce Now leak, many of Microsofts upcoming Xbox projects were leaked. However, one title that stands out is ‘Project Shaolin’, and it features the legendary Wu-Tang Clan.
The Wu-Tang Clan is an iconic hip-hop group and arguably the greatest group of all time, with classics such as C.R.E.A.M, Triumph, Protect Ya Neck, and Ice Cream. They had a dedicated video game back in 1999 by the name of ‘Wu-Tang: Shaolin Style’, for the original Playstation. Members of the clan, such as Method Man and GhostFace Killah have appeared in the ‘Def Jam’ fighting game series.

As of now, there is no release date or trailer for the upcoming ‘Project Shaolin’, as it was leaked, and there was not an announcement either. The codename for this project comes from ‘Shaolin’, being the nickname for the borough in New York, Staten Island, where the members of the Wu-Tang Clan were born and/or raised. The game will be a third-person RPG centered around melee combat and will support single player and multiplayer. It will also reportedly have an anime type aesthetic.
‘Project Shaolin’, according to leaks, is being developed by a studio called Brass Lion Entertainment, founded by BioWare and Bethesda alumni. In 2021, an Unreal Engine-powered game was referenced on its site, which lines up with rumors about ‘Project Shaolin’. If you thought it couldn’t get any better, the Wu-Tang Clan themselves are involved in making the soundtrack of the video game.
Until now, this is all that we know about ‘Project Shaolin’. We have yet to see or hear anything else of it.
