Located in Orrtanna, Pennsylvania, just outside of Fairfield not far from Liberty Mountain Resort is Hickory Bridge Farm, a quaint and local restaurant. Meals are served as a family-style buffet. The wait staff brings your table family portions and will bring out as much as your table can eat. On the menu, the night I dined there was:
- Warm fresh rolls with apple butter
- Spiced peaches
- Salad with warm bacon dressing
- BBQ ribs
- Oven-fried chicken
- Crab imperial
- Roasted potatoes
- Cooked carrots
- Broccoli and cheese
- Corn fritters
- Baked apples
Tea and lemonade are included with the price of your meal. Soda and spirits are offered at an additional cost. Dessert was also included in the meal. Of the options presented, I chose the Ice Cream Pie: mocha crust with a cookie crust. Other desserts included: apple crisp, pumpkin pie, and chocolate mousse to name a few.
In addition to the restaurant, Hickory Bridge Farm is also a bed and breakfast. It’s an old barn converted into a restaurant. They also have a general store where you can purchase peaches, salad dressing, apple butter and other things offered in their restaurant. They have tea, hot chocolate, spices, candles, recipes, jewelry, crafts, toys, just to name a few items in their store.
Families often make it a tradition to have a meal here. The property is beautifully decorated and has ample photo opportunities. There is a lovely working fireplace inside the restaurant and in the summer months, you can view the gardens here.
As we left after our meal and trip to the General Store, we had to stop and ring the large bell outside signaling that we enjoyed our meal and will be back soon.
