After a 20 year and 500 mile separation, a sentence to life in prison, and nearly 35 years in the slammer, will Lyle and Erik Menendez finally be let out of jail after committing the grisly murder of their parents, Jose and Kitty Menendez? Some believe the two brothers will be home before the holidays.
At a Monday status hearing, Los Angeles Surperior Court Judge Michael Jesic postponed the Menendez brothers re-sentencing date from December 11th 2024 to January 30th 2025. Both Erik and Lyle appeared virtually from the Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility in San Diego California for the status hearing via video conference.
Friends, family, and fans are supporting Erik and Lyle during the last days of their sentencing. Terry Baralt, Erik and Lyle’s aunt, said she would like to “hug and see them” and not have to visit jail to do so, according to CNN News. After the resurface of the Menendez brothers case on social media platforms, and both the Netflix television documentary and show, many people have been wondering when Erik and Lyle will be set free.
