Reopening of Skate Frederick:
In Frederick, Maryland, the doors of the ice rank creaked open again this past spring. After months of the rank being closed due to maintenance, Skate Frederick has finally opened up again to the public. This has given the opportunity to beginners, to advanced to come on in through the doors and have a chance to glide, twirl and sometimes fall back onto the ice.
Family-Friendly Skating Rank:
To many, Skate Frederick isn’t just a place to skate; it is where lots of people learn something. This is a family-friendly place where friendships are made-kids who meet in skating lessons, or just families who start planning nights to meet and enjoy a skating night together.
Skating is a good way to help with health. This is a good exercise, and this gives people a reason to get outside, even when it is cold. The reopening of Skate Frederick gives the chance to the community to have a fun, and safe time for those in the area.
The Process:
During the maintenance issues being fixed, this process was not easy. There were delays, funding issues, and there were problems during the colder months. There were a lot of concerns about the costs since this was not going to be a cheap and quick fix. However, with all of the support the skating rank has been fixed and reopened.
Newly Opportunities:
With the reopening of the rank, there has been more programs such as public and private skating lessons, and there is also a chance for hockey options if you’re wanting to join a league.
Skate Into Winter:
Overall, Skate Frederick is skating towards the future and letting people glide forward. The reopening of this has been more than just cold floors and sharp blades, this is a symbol of hope and gives a chance for the new advancements made.
